Hello children,

Do you enjoy working jigsaw puzzles? Jigsaw puzzles can be a lot of fun. The pieces of this puzzle are in many different sizes, shapes, colors.

Children, jigsaw puzzles also teach us an important lesson about the church.

The church is made up of many individual members. Like the pieces of this puzzle, the members of a church come in different sizes, shapes, and colours.

Jesus Himself prayed that the church would be one so that the world would see God’s love in us.

You and I are part of the picture. Jesus wants us to love one another, help one another, and serve one another. When we do that, we become one, just as Jesus prayed we would be, and when we are one, the world can see God's love in us.

Unfortunately, just as it is sometimes difficult to put all of the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle together, the individual members of the church sometimes have a hard time being one with each other.

Some of us don’t ever like to speak or getting to know each other!

If you ever find yourself thinking about yourself, rather than being united with others in the church, remember that Jesus prayed that we would be one. When we are one, bound together by Christ's love, the world will see God's love through us.

In the Old Testament of the Bible we read about God showing Himself to us as the one true God. People learned that God was real, faithful to His promises, and people could be His friends if they put their trust in Him.

Jesus Christ has revealed to us the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven. The greatest of His teachings is the secret of God Himself.

He has told us of the life of God. Jesus taught us that in one God there are three persons, each equal to the other. He told us the names of these three Divine Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God has revealed this mystery to us because He wants us to know as much about Him as we can that we might love Him more in return for His love for us. Jesus revealed Himself as the eternal and divine Son of God. He revealed His Father and He, the Risen Lord, is Head of His Church.

God is our Father; Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit is our Sanctifier, Teacher and Guide.

Let Us Pray

Dear Father,

We want to walk with Jesus and let his light shine on us. In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.

Heavenly Father,

Even when others refuse to believe that Jesus has the power to heal and forgive, help us to remain faithful and true. In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen.
