Dear Editor,
Sunday school students of the Confirmation class of St Michael’s Church went all out to appreciate and thank all their Catechism facilitors for the past 10 years. They initiated, and got them, gift boxes containing a glass vase filled with cookies.

They surprised their catechism teachers, some of whom are still teaching. They gave each a hug and specially thanked them before wishing them ‘Happy Teacher’s Day’.

Their current class facilitator, K. Regina, said these students are going through their last year of catechism, preparing for their Sacrament of Confirmation in October. She said that they are having mixed feelings; on the one hand, that they will be “graduating” from catechism and no longer have to come for classes Sunday mornings and can sleep in and, on the other hand, they are also feeling sad that they will miss coming for class which they have been faithfully doing for the last 10 years.

Most importantly, they were very thankful for all these years of faith education. They admit they have learnt a lot and they will not forget the love and care each teacher gave, year after year. Most lovingly, they remember facililator Lucy whom they fondly call “Aunty Lucy.”
