KUALA LUMPUR: In his opening address at the online 2021 Pastoral Planning and 2020 Evaluation Meeting of the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur, Archbishop Julian Leow stated that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected our lives and the life and mission of the parishes and the Church as a whole. In view of this, it is important for Ecclesiastical Assistants (EAs) of Archdiocesan Ministries, Groups and Associations to review the progress of their respective ministries, and put forward an effective action plan.

“The deliberations of the meeting will be taken to the clergy recollection on Nov 24 and 25 for further deliberation and action. At this meeting, Fr Clarence will present the findings on the survey questionnaire sent to EAs.

“At the clergy recollection, the findings from the parishes will be presented. We have to find answers to some key questions so as to meet the challenges ahead, and to discover, as a Church, new and creative ways to respond to the needs of the people. We will listen to the Spirit, assured that the Lord is with us, and move forward with trust in him.

“‘Collaboration’ will be a key word in our discussions, for we cannot afford to work in isolation. Together, we have to respond effectively and creatively to the current circumstances in our parishes, and beyond their boundaries.”
