Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

In this time of COVID-19, as our Church’s social and pastoral response, all daily, Sunday Masses and Services in Catholic Parishes in the Red Zone will be temporarily suspended, effective July 31, 2020. This affects parish communities in Kuching, Kota Sentosa, Kota Samarahan and Kota Padawan.

Churches in the Yellow Zone and Green Zone will remain open for Sunday Masses and Services. I exhort everyone to strictly adhere to the safety SOPs that are currently practised in all our churches and offices. This will ensure that our churches are kept safe for public worship.

We are all the ‘frontliners’ in our society. I thus appeal to all Catholics and people of goodwill to live out our Christian and social responsibility:

–– Wear a mask in public at all times to respect and protect one another

–– Maintain at least one-metre social distancing at all times

–– Practise proper washing of hands

–– Do not touch your face, eyes, nose or mouth

–– Bring a personal hand sanitiser and surface disinfectant

–– Donate to CWS / charity to alleviate suffering

–– Be kind to and considerate of one another

–– Pray and intercede for our society.

Let us do our part to contain COVID-19 so that our churches can resume Masses even earlier, especially before the Feast of the Assumption weekend on August 15.

All Parish Offices will remain open to serve you. May Almighty God bless and protect all families with good health, peace and abundant grace.
