On Bible Sunday, 9 July 2017, a certificate presentation ceremony was held at the Church of St Thomas More during the 11.45am Mass for students who passed the recent postal quiz conducted by the Scripture Union of Malaysia.

This certificate is recognised by the Ministry of Education as part of their co-curricular activities. It also adds merit when applying for places in universities in the UK and other Christian countries.

All these students are enrolled in the Bible Knowledge (BK) for SPM programme conducted at the church. Classes are conducted every Tuesday and Thursday from 8.00pm to 10.00pm. Students have the option to attend either on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Books and teaching materials for this course are prepared by the Kuala Lumpur ArchdioceseBK.

Besides that, the Archdiocese also conducts a Bible Seminar, Bible Camp and Trial Examination to prepare students for the SPM examination. Students can enrol in these classes when they are in Form Three and, when they reach Form Five, they can decide whether they want to take this subject for the SPM examination. The syllabus covers only two books in the Bible: The Gospel of Luke and The Acts of the Apostles. Students who attended classes regularly have done very well in the SPM examination in previous years.

The parish priest, Fr Raymond Pereira, congratulated the students on their success and stressed the need for parishioners to take Bible studies seriously. He thanked the teachers and also the parents for encouraging their children to take this Bible studies programme.
