LAHAD DATU: On September 16, the Parish Catechetical Committee of St Dominic Parish organised a Confirmation camp (Kem Krisma).

The confirmation candidates consisted of 14 adults and 136 youths from St Dominic Parish and Outstation. Twenty facilitators assisted in the programme.

This Kem Krisma was organised to prepare the candidates to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the coming weeks.

The theme of this camp was Being an Effective Witness of Christ.

The programme began with registration as early as 7.00am, followed by the Bible Enthronement led by Fr Simon Kontou.

The first session, Living Baptism Calling was by Sr Evelin Tivit. She held workshops and answered questions. Among the questions asked was “What is the main challenge of young people to support their Baptism calling?”

The following session was on the Sacraments where the candidates were invited to know the Sacrament better.

On the third session, Sr Evelin gave a catechesis about the meaning of the Eucharist and continued with an activity of organising the Full Mass Order.

In the Reconciliation session, Facilitator Vilma organised a ‘Knee Injury/Spiritual Healing’ activity to show the candidates how to go through the process of conversion.

The final session was presented by Sr Evelin. She spoke on You are My Witness (7 Meaningful Fruits of the Holy Spirit). The session ended with a crossword puzzle.

Before the camp came to an end, the confirmands gave their sharing, reflection and evaluation. Sr Evelin Tivit then led the candidates to a rehearsal inside the Church.
