Counselling, mental health services centre opened

KAJANG: January 19, 2019 marked the opening of the Life Journey Wellness Centre, a new venue operated by the Kuala Lumpur Archdiocese Mental Health Ministry that provides counselling and mental health services.

Archbishop Julian Leow Beng Kim officially opened the Life Journey Wellness Centre with blessings and a mission to bring hope, strength and healing to all.

The Archdiocesan Mental Health Ministry (AMHM), with Fr Philip Chua as its Ecclesiastical Assistant and the Centre’s Director, aims to continue its mission through the Life Journey Wellness Centre to serve the mental health needs of those within the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur. Both Catholics and non-Catholics are welcomed to benefit from the professional services and resources provided.

The mental health services offered include counselling services for individuals, couples and families, psychological assessments and interventions, career counselling and support for the elderly and bereaved. These psychological services and emotional support are provided by a team of licensed and certified mental health professionals assisted by mental health team members.

The Life Journey Wellness Centre, is located at No. 17-C, Jalan S10/2, Bandar Kajang, 43000 Kajang, Selangor. Apart from offering counselling sessions, this centre will also serve as a venue for mental health-related events, workshops and training sessions throughout 2019.
