The Health Ministry recorded 168 new Covid-19 recovery cases today, the highest since mid-June, while 82 new cases were reported, 60 of which were from Sabah.

The total recoveries now stand at 9,563 cases, or a rate of 92.3 per cent while the accumulated Covid-19 cases nationwide as of noon today is 10,358, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement today.

Of the 82 new cases, 10 were imported, involving nine locals and one foreigner.

Sabah’s Benteng LD cluster recorded 41 new cases, involving 34 locals and seven foreigners. This brings to 624 total number of cases linked to this cluster. Selangor also recorded 10 new cases from the Sungai cluster, bringing the total to 83.

Sabah also reported a new cluster, Bangau-Bangau, from Semporna Hospital where five cases have been reported. The cases were detected from the hospital’s pre-admission screening.

No new deaths were reported while nine patients were in intensive care units, two of whom require ventilator support.––The New Sarwak
