The Parish Ministries of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs (PMEIA) from the Church of the Assumption made a pilgrimage to the Church of St Theresa, Nilai, to reflect on the life and spirituality of the Little Flower, St Theresa of Lisieux. What started as a recollection for the ministry members expanded to include interested pilgrims from the BECs.
The walk through the various stations was prayerful and inspiring. The reflections at each station looked at the various aspects of St Theresa’s life – her calling, her family life, her health challenges, her response as a martyr of love and, finally, her ultimate sacrifice. As the pilgrims moved from one station to another, hymns that coincided with the reflections were sung. The reflections af the stations culminated with a Mass.
The parish priest of St Theresa, Fr Eugene Benedict, was an excellent spiritual guide and host. The parishioners of St Theresa also deserve to be commended for their hospitality and friendship.
Through this event, the Assumption Church parishioners got to know more about PMEIA and its members. They generously welcome future updates on events so they can participate.
The ministry also recruited two new members to the team. St Theresa, Patron Saint of Mission, Pray for us!
