IPOH (Herald Malaysia): Fifty-nine children received their First Holy Communion at the Church of Our Lady Of Lourdes. Parish priest Fr Francis Andrew told the children that they are special as they are about to receive the body and blood of Christ. He told the children to dress up when they come for Mass and look beautiful in the eyes of God. He urged them to take up the challenge to encourage their friends to attend Mass weekly.

Family prayer is an important tool for a Christian family. He added, “A family that prays together stays together”. The Eucharist is regarded as a meal shared by the congregation. Fr Francis also stressed that we should receive the Eucharist frequently.

The importance of loving was also stressed. When we love our siblings, we automatically have the heart to give. The Holy Eucharist also signifies unity, power and strength. — By Molly Anne
