The Feast of the Holy Family was celebrated with joy and love among the people at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Betong. The celebration was held in conjunction with the church’s 10th anniversary.

The event began with the charity food fair on 28 December 2019 (Saturday) from 9.00am until 5.00pm at the church compound. Among the attendees were Parish Rector, Fr Augustine Jepy along with the Chairman of Parish Council Our Lady Queen of Peace Sri Aman, John Costello.

As many as 11 stalls selling food, drinks, vegetables, local delicacies as well as religious articles were set up on that day. Furthermore, there was a variety of interesting activities such as song sponsoring, Golden Voice, Christmas dance performance, and lucky draws. Some of the lucky draw winners went home with amazing prizes such as Modenas Kriss 110 Euro3 motorcycle, 43” LG television, Panasonic automatic washing machine and more.

The Thanksgiving Mass held on 29 Dec 2019 (Sunday) was the finale of the celebration, which was presided by Fr Adrian Kho. During the Mass, the people witnessed the presentation of a farewell gift to Fr Adrian who will be transferred to a new place. Before concluding the Mass, Fr Adrian Kho left the parishioners a meaningful and powerful message, in which he encouraged the Catholics in Betong to be united in one body in Christ in all forms of ministry.

Brian Leonusia as the coordinator of the Feast of the Holy Family, expressed his deepest gratitude for the generous donation, energy, time and prayers to all those who had been involved throughout the celebration.--Today's Catholic
