Is the PPA open to all?

I would like to know what the Parish Pastoral Assembly is all about. Recently my parish priest suggested that our 2019 Parish Pastoral Assembly (PPA) would be only for members of ministry and lay persons.

Dear Editor,
I would like to know what the Parish Pastoral Assembly is all about. Recently my parish priest suggested that our 2019 Parish Pastoral Assembly (PPA) would be only for members of ministry and lay persons.

The parishioners are excluded from the meeting. I do not under stand: as far as I know the PPA is open to all.

Are there standard guidelines for all parishes to follow regarding this?

The PPA is the only place where the parishioners are allowed to have a dialogue with the Church.

This is how we move forward in Church — by listening to the people. If we don’t allow the people to speak,  I think it is pointless to have a PPA.

I think the Church needs to regain her humility by simply listening and recognising what others have to say so that there is a better understanding.

I hope you can share some light on this.
