PETALING JAYA: The second BECCOT Assembly on January 26, 2019 at St Ignatius Church was attended by 39 Coordinators and Assistants from the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur. The objective of this year’s Assembly was to review, reflect and realign the implementation plans carried out based on the three Areas of Concern of the BEC Cluster.

At the same time, it was a platform for the newly elected BECCOT Coordinators and Assistants to understand their journey of being the link between the diocese and the parishes in line with the five year plan.

The second BECCOT Assembly reviewed the support of the parish especially the parish priest and the parish BECAT in addressing the three concerns.

During the Evaluation Session, the coordinators shared the challenges and hitches especially in implementing the action plan. Msgr Mitchel and the ABECAT had assured them their support as they will be visiting the various BECCOTs in 2019 especially through formation. It was indeed disheartening to hear of their struggles in building and growing their teams and the limitations confronted amidst all efforts.

After the break, Msgr Mitchel explained how the BEC came about. He then shared on the nine characteristics of Jesus in BEC.

The coordinators and their assistants were then placed in groups according to their disteicts to review various parts of the BEC Handbook.

In addressing the second concern - BECS lack vibrancy due to poor leadership and people lack interest, spiritual focus and busy, a Leadership Skills and Succession Planning session was conducted on January 19, 2019 at St Ignatius Church for the newly elected Coordinators and Assistants.
