A one day parish formation programme (8.30am - 4.30pm) will be conducted by Msgr Mitchel Anthony and Rita Krishnan from the Archdiocesan BEC Animating Team (ABECAT). This will be offered in order to address the second Area of Concern of the BEC Cluster.

Introduction
In addressing the second Concern of the BEC Cluster - BECs Lack Vibrancy Due To Poor Leadership & People Lack Interest, Spiritual Focus and Busy, the Leadership Skills and Succession Planning formation has been designed to equip our BEC Coordinators with appropriate people skills to build communities and serve the Lord. Holding ourselves accountable for building His Kingdom, we need to unveil the many skills necessary to become his “fertile” leaders.

Programme Objectives After the formation, participants will be able to:

-- inculcate positive leadership traits 
-- acquire community building techniques 
-- develop workable plan for effective succession

-- BEC Coordinators & Assistant Coordinators 
-- BEC Core Team and Youth - our potential leaders

Programme Content

Session 1 - Leading with Interpersonal Skills

-- identifying leadership attributes and qualities
-- describing nine of Jesus characteristics
-- discovering the perspectives of BEC leadership
-- discernment - Scripture Readings

Session 2 - Leading with Vision and Inspiration
-- sticking to God’s mission in building his people
-- believing in yourself and your team members
-- coordinating with your internal“anchors”
-- discussion - BEC Coordinator - Chief Spiritual Officer

Session 3 - Committing to Leadership

-- burning bush - burning heart -burning house
-- feeling under qualified, for saken,abandoned
-- developing an action plan for spiritual growth
-- case study - the art of possibility

Session 4 - Working to Build a Future Team

-- pooling talents and resources -“downward spiral”
-- acknowledging abilities and short comings
-- working through uncertainties and fears
-- reflection time - video clip

Session 5 - Branching Out Into Our Community

-- widening territory to extend your“pool”
-- lifting up your eyes to see all possibilities
-- untangling your mental boundaries application plan - writing your succession planning
