To help enhance the individual’s Lenten experience, the Parish Liturgical Team from the Church of the Divine Mercy prepared and distributed Lenten calendars to all parishioners during the weekend Masses on Mar 1 and 2. The calendar shows a different approach to intensify prayer life, penance and almsgiving on each day of the 40-day Lenten period.

The programme for Holy Week and the Divine Mercy Feastday celebrations were also outlined with an attention grabbing main theme – AM I A CHRISTAHOLIC?

A thought-provoking video clip titled, Lent in under two minutes was also shown after each Mass. Addressing the congregation, parish priest, Fr Martin Arlando urged everyone to live the actions on the calendar this Lent.

The little ones were not forgotten as the CLOW (Children’s Liturgy of the Word) Team also distributed a simpler, creative version of the calendar for the children to follow with the help of their parents.
For Cecilia Ong, the mother of six-year old Clarissa, this was ‘a good way to encourage children to pray’.

Simon Kay, who has a seven-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter, was excited at the prospect of being involved in the Lenten activities with his children. He was already in discussion with another parent, Cecilia, on how to fill the calendar which will be offered up during Mass towards the end of Lent.
