On February 13th 2016, about 48 BEC core team members attended a half-day briefing on the 2016 Lenten Campaign at the Formation House of St. Joseph Church Sentul. The emphasis was on the Catechetical perspectives and practices of Lent and the exhortations of our Holy Father Pope Francis during this “Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy”.

The program started off with a jam packed talk by Richard Ganesh leading the participants on a journey of merciful awakening, touching on our Holy Fathers Year of Mercy guidelines. A very animated and thought provoking session, directed towards breaking away from the normal Lenten practices and into doing extraordinary merciful acts. Finally returning back to the basics of Catechism that WE WON’T be able to “EMBRACE GODS’ SALVATION”, unless we decide to “EMBRACE and EMULATE HIM” in our everyday lives.

The next speaker, Marcus Peter presented a youthful yet spiritually vibrant and emotionally inspiring talk, tugging at the core of God’s loving mercifulness.

Finally Gabriel Moses led a leadership molding session. Emphasizing on merciful and spiritual based practices, he challenged the participants to rise and work towards Our Lord’s glory. And to continue on to inspire and mold better Catholic leaders within our parish.--SJC
