PENANG: Responding to Pope Francis’ invitation to celebrate Laudato Si’ Week from May 16-24, Penang Diocesan Youth Network (PDYN) are working towards creating the awareness about Laudato Si’ to the young people in Penang Diocese.

The awareness consist of reviewing the encyclical by watching a video by Cardinal Tagle on Laudato Si’. His videos aimed to revealed the essence of this encyclical. The thorough yet simple explanation video were split into three parts, each to be posted on different day during the Laudato Si’  Week. It is quite challenging for young people nowadays to read written document and for such reasons, watching video could be the better alternative.

PDYN has also designed a shareable infographic on EcoFriendly Living Tips. This in fographic includes some of the practical ways to help make this common home, a better place to lived in.

On top of these activities, PDYN are fully utilising social media like Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp to discuss, if not share, the topics related to Laudato Si’.

PDYN wants to resonate once again a question from Pope Francis throughout the Laudato Si’ Week: “What kind of world do we want to leave to those who will come after us, the children who are growing up?”

In light of this fifth Anniversary of Pope Francis’ second published Encyclical, namely Laudato Si’ : On the care of our common home, we would like to wish you a Happy Laudato Si’ Week 2020. May the grace of the Lord be with you, young people; the hope of our world!
