Taking the lead in sex education
A recent survey in Malaysia revealed appalling results about the ignorance of Malaysians about sex. The majority lack adequate information about the facts related to sex and many still propagate superstitions and myths on the issue.Non-profit businesses and organisations
I refer to Anil Netto’s article in the Feb 28 issue of HERALD. I agree that the important elements in a business should be integrity and accountability.RCIA process used for nefarious means
I would like to know how the RCIA team member or priest assesses the person inquiring about the RCIA to be actually genuine or has she/he have some other scheme? Why SHOULD we stop using “Allah”?
I was a little disturbed by the 3 letters in the Jan 24 issue of HERALD — Have press conference to drop usage of “Allah”, Stop using it as “might is right” and Case will only deplete coffers of the Church. This is a battle for Malay votes
The Jan 24 issue of HERALD had three letters from readers requesting the withdrawal by the Church of the usage of the word “Allah.”Religious freedom in Malaysia
Religious freedom in Malaysia is fundamental but relative and subject to article 11(4)and (5) of the Federal Constitution. Article 11(5)prohibits any religious act contrary to the general law relating to public order, public health or morality.Dialogue to resolve controversies
Since the high court ruling to allow HERALD to use the word “Allah” there have been various comments by commentators. What caught my attention was a write up by law professor Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi in the Star.Support those who are doing our ‘works’
It seemed odd when Jesus asked the Disciples: “Who do you say I am?” I am sure that in his Divinity, He knew what was in their hearts. So why bother?Herald, press on
In fact, we can see strong and affirmative support from the moderate and learned Malay majority of the population besides the conservative Islamist PAS which appear to be more open on this issue and clearly support HERALD’s stand as opposed to the government in power. We from this nation, we are Malaysia
Being a Malaysian student in UK, I certainly have a sense of pride in me every time I talk about my nation in front of an international audience as at each time, the first aspect that comes to my mind is our multi racial community and how we harmoniously live together as one nation, unity in diversity at its best. That factor is certainly what makes Malaysia truly unique. Some references to “El” and “Allah”
‘El’ was the current name for God, in the form of Elah,[1][1] in the Aramaic language of Christ. LAMSA gives the Aramaic for God, from the date of the Eastern biblical manuscripts (Peshitta) until now, as Alaha, which can be easily recognized in the Arabic Allah, the name also used by Christian Arabs.- Muslim use of “Allah” not original
