ROME: The Jesuit-founded Apostleship of Prayer network has launched a new series of prayer videos featuring Pope Francis presenting his monthly intentions.

Founded by French Jesuit seminarians in 1844, the Apostleship of Prayer will release the videos through their website, as well as on social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, News.va reports.

The videos, which will be available in ten languages, will encourage people from all over the world to pray with the Pope each month. Video production is managed in collaboration with the Vatican Television Centre.

The first video released on Jan 6 (https://youtu.be/ Nq7us5Lf5IU) – the Feast of the Epiphany – features the Pope’s prayer intention for this month: “That sincere dialogue among men and women of different faiths may produce the fruits of peace and justice.”

In the video, Pope Francis says, “Many think differently, feel differently, seeking God or meeting  God in different ways. In this crowd, in this range of religions, there is only one certainly we have, for all: We are all children of God,” according to Aleteia.

A Buddhist lama along with three of Francis’ closest friends from Argentina: Islamic leader Omar Abboud, Rabbi Daniel Goldman, and Fr Guillermo Marco, appear in the video.

“In a world where everything pushes towards fragmentation, opposition, and division, it’s more than ever necessary that religions and persons that hope for peace, brotherhood, and solidarity mobilize together on common projects,” said Fr Frédéric Fornos, managing director of the Pope’s Global Prayer Network. -- Global Pulse
