The Christ The King Community of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS) had their recent Annual Retreat at a local hotel on 31 August to 2 September.

The retreat was conducted by Retreat Master – Fr Nicholas Hoh, OCD. The retreat programme included the daily Mass, liturgical prayers, and Silent Reflection following sessions on the OCDS Constitution and the Apostolic Exhortation Gaudete Et Exultate of the Holy Father Pope Francis on the call to holiness in today’s world.

The reflection on the constitution enabled the members of the Secular Order, rooted in Christ through their baptismal consecration and united by the bonds of fraternal charity, to reflect and respond generously to their common vocation to holiness in the concrete situations of family, ecclesial, social and civil life.

For any enquiries on joining the OCDS, please contact the president of Christ the King community, Alice Chew at 016-5760355.--Today's Catholic
