Vocation Sunday, or Good Shepherd Sunday, is a special day to remind us that Jesus is the only Shepherd who speaks to us, knows us, gives us eternal life and keeps us. We are His flock and we must strive to listen to His voice while, with love, He scrutinises the sincerity of our hearts.

This year the Church of the Good Shepherd celebrated its feastday with a triduum May 9 - 12 with daily Masses, holy hour, adoration and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Being in the Extraordinary Year of Mission, parish priest Fr Christopher invited a few Parish Pastoral Council members and parish leaders to share their vocation stories: how they became active in church ministries and the challenges they faced. Most importantly, how they tried to motivate and encourage others to live their missionary lives.

Throughout the celebration, Fr Chris encouraged the faithful to ‘live and share the Light’. To be in communion with Christ is to share His light and blessings with all we meet. Twelve parish leaders shared their life stories as part of the homily. All the life stories were inspirational and reinforced the theme, Baptised and Sent.

After the sunset Mass on May 11, the congregation participated in the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Eucharistic procession. The faithful recited the rosary throughout the procession at Air Panas, Setapak. Sunday being Mother’s Day, Fr Chris blessed all mothers and thanked them for their precious work in raising their children and protecting family values.
