IPOH: St Michael’s Church (SMC) English youth group prepared a special something for all fathers on Father’s Day, which fell on June 21.

Although there were no chocolates or cakes and coffee at the parish hall as in past years, because of the RMCO, the youths got together to have an online Zoom Father’s Day event that started at 12 noon after the online Masses.

The contributions of Jack Waran, Jennifer Alberto, Calvin Teh and Daniel Bavin in the organising team enabled the youths to do what they love once again – to thank their fathers for their love, encouragement and support through the video, which was a photo library of beautiful images of fathers and their children in the early years.

Calvin Teh made the video pres entation,  and SMC parish priest Fr Anthony Liew made an appearance to share his experiences on growing up, a short reflection on a father’s love and to wish all fathers a Happy Fathers’ Day.

He also said all fathers were loved because of their fatherly guidance on life, expectations, and inescapable advice. He thanked the team, adding it was a very good event.

Jack Waran also shared how a positive father can bring hope to all those around them, making great things happen.

Then all fathers in all categories were wished a “Happy Fathers’ Day” before Daniel Bavin said the closing prayer.

The session ended at 12.30pm and was posted on SMC Ipoh’s facebook page.
