The 105 year-old Chapel of St Anne celebrated her feastday with a Triduum from August 15 to 17, and revolved around the theme Called, Chosen and Sent. Fr Yesu Anthony from India was the preacher for the Triduum.

As the chapel comes under the jurisdiction of the Church of the Holy Family in Kajang. Parish Priest, Fr George Harrison was also present.

His homily touched on the sub-theme Chosen From Among Many. Fr Yesu said that as a Christian, one is called to be a disciple of Christ. We are all called to a new way of life. “Faith is first of all, acceptance of the Person of Jesus Christ and His message and then, to respond to Jesus and His message.”

Touching on the Gospel, where Jesus asked Peter..“Do you love Me?” Fr Yesu told the assembly that we must accept Jesus and walk in His footsteps. It is not enough to merely say that we love Jesus. “We need to be holy and blameless before God. When God calls us, we are, by His special grace, chosen to be His disciples. Jesus has chosen you to be His disciples, listen to His Word and follow Him,” Fr Yesu concluded.

On Aug 16, after the Rosary, Novena to St Anne and Mass, there was a candle-light procession with the icon of St Anne mounted on a decorated pick-up truck leading, followed by Fr Yesu and Fr George and the whole assembly, which progressed along the two major roads in the estate. The procession ended back at the chapel after which all were feted to a dinner in the chapel’s grounds.

Fr George thanked Fr Yesu for presiding at the Triduum and also those who came in good numbers. He also encouraged the assembly to make Mass Offerings, explaining why we offer Masses. He also said that on Aug 17, there would be Anointing of the Sick before the 10.00am Mass, and the sub-theme for the day would be Sent To Bear Witness.
