KUALA LUMPUR: At the Biennial Meeting on June 13, Paul & Linda Daniel were again discerned as State Coordinating Couple to lead Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WME) Selangor- Kuala Lumpur for another two-year term 2010-2011.

Together with Fr Patrick Boudville, they will head the WME Selangor-KL State Coordinating Board (SCB) as State Ecclesial Team. Paul & Linda are parishioners of the Church of St Ignatius, Petaling Jaya, while Fr Boudville, who is also WME National Coordinating Priest, is parish priest of the Church of the Good Shepherd, KL.

The other members of the SCB are Percy & Annette Miranda (Secretarial & Finance Couple), John & Francisca Arokiasamy (Pre- Weekend Couple), Christopher & Monica Chew (Weekend Couple) and Canute & Lourett Magimay (Post-Weekend Couple).

The mission of the SCB is to promote, integrate and coordinate the four pillars of WME: the Weekend programme, Team Community, Structure and Encountered Community.

Prior to the Discernment, a short formation-reflection themed Unity in the Body of Christ based on Ephesians 4:1- 6 was conducted by Fr Boudville and Paul & Linda, who were first discerned as State Coordinating Couple for 2008-2009.

Fr Boudville encouraged the team-community present to actively invite married couples to experience the Marriage Encounter (ME) Weekend as part of efforts to promote Family Life programmes in the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur.

“ME is the most successful and dynamic marriage enrichment experience in the world today, and ME makes good marriages better. We must enable couples to experience the wonder, beauty and gift of the ME Weekend,” said Fr Boudville.

He said that ME Weekends are held about four times a year, and that the next Weekend for the Selangor-KL region would be held from 3-5 July at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre.
