KUALA LUMPUR: On June 28, the eve of the Feast of St Peter and St Paul, the Chapels of Christ the Light, Desa Jaya and Christ the King in Selayang, jointly organized a two-hour show, filled with various Presentations dedicated to St Paul.
The Certificate Presentation, which was an important part of the event, was the Climax of a One-Year Journey for 45 Graduates who faithfully attended a Study into the life of the greatest Apostle to the Gentiles.
The tribute to St Paul began with a Mass at 10.00am, followed by the show. The cultural show also included an Exhibition of various elements that were instrumental in St Paul’s missionary work, as well as dances, short dramas on St Peter and St Paul in heaven, comedy sketches, scriptural recitals by catechism children and adults, as well as the ever popular Villu Paatu, all dedicated to the sufferings, sacrifices, achievements and inspirations from the life of St. Paul.
His Grace, Archbishop Murphy Pakiam paid a surprise visit and inspired those present to emulate St Paul and continue participating actively in the forthcoming activities dedicated to the Priesthood and Religious Life.
Fr Albet Arockiasamy, the Parish Priest, joined in complimenting the organizers of this event and urged the crowd of more than 300 people from various Parishes to make a difference in continuing St Paul’s efforts to strengthen their BECs and Parishes and faithfully bloom and serve where they are planted.
It is interesting to note that some of the Graduates from this One Year Programme have committed themselves to reach out and serve via the newly formed Prison Ministry, as well as the poorest of the poor, in new and more effective ways. —
