Hampir hilang kepercayaan terhadap Gereja Katolik

Salam damai Editor,

Dalam satu artikel di Ruangan Belia Milenium bertajuk “Sudahkah anda berkenalan dengan Gereja” telah banyak menggambarkan keadaan diri saya yang serba kekurangan dari segi pengetahuan agama.

Saya sering mengikuti seminar, tidak pernah ponteng menghadiri Misa Kudus, namun saya tidak dapat menjawab persoalan apabila penganut agama lain bertanya soalan yang mudah misalnya, “Apa maksud Pra-Paskah? Mengapa kita mendoakan para arwah?”

Saya biasanya terpingapinga mencari jawabannya. Bukan saya sahaja, malah keluarga sendiri juga tidak tahu menjawabnya.

Mungkin ini disebabkan saya tidak sepenuh jiwa mendengar homili paderi atau sekadar mengikuti semua gerak tubuh liturgi. Akibat kurang pengetahuan, saya hampir hilang kepercayaan terhadap Gereja Katolik sedangkan setiap minggu saya menerima Tubuh dan Darah Yesus.

Tetapi syukur, selepas terbaca beberapa ulasan di Ruangan Pembaca, saya baru menyedari bahawa jawabanjawaban itu sudahpun dibincangkan di dalam ruangan Bahasa Malaysia HERALD.

Memang membaca akhbar Katolik dianggap bosan berbanding membaca majalah hiburan yang penuh dengan gosip dan gambar artis penuh warna-warni.

Namun, suatu hari nanti, bekalan rohani inilah yang kita bawa apabila kita menghembuskan nafas yang terakhir kelak. Marilah kita bersama-sama memupuk dan menanamkan minat untuk membaca bahan-bahan rohani agar tidak mudah terpengaruh dengan budaya sekular.
