Fr Francis Xavier Selvarajoo, parish priest of St Anthony’s Church in Teluk Intan, and a few parishioners celebrated the Eucharist with the Infant Jesus Sisters (IJS) at 11.00am on May 23. Besides celebrating Mass with the sisters, Fr Francis Xavier wanted to visit Sr Antoinette Dass who was recently transferred to Sitiawan from Teluk Intan.

Sr Antoinette has been in Teluk Intan for more than ten years and she was fondly known for her gentle smile and a loving and caring heart. She moved to Sitiawan a week after celebrating Easter. Sr Antoinette, along with the rest of the sisters, were in high spirits to celebrate the Mass with us. According to Sr William of Sitiawan, the sisters were blessed as this was the first Eucharistic celebration since they moved to the temporary home in April as the IJ Convent is under renovation.

Without a doubt, for the eight of us it was a day of joy to meet all the sisters and certainly, the celebration of Mass in their home was an indulgent blessing.

After the Mass and light refreshment, all of us went out for lunch to celebrate an early birthday for Fr Francis Xavier who turned 60 the next day. We thank the Lord for his abundant blessings showered upon all of us.
