Use of ‘Allah’ for God

Dear Editor,
It’s rather painful to see the people of our country being separated by religious dogma.

Being neither Christian or Muslim, I cannot claim to be belonging to any of the Abrahamic religions but have considerable exposure to both. What intrigues me is that the ‘Allah’ issue was laid to rest in the Al Quran itself.

If one reads from chapter 3 verse 64 onwards, Islam itself suggests that ‘Allah’ is the name for God among Christians. This was essentially to avoid confusion among adherents of both Islam and Christianity who share the same beginnings.

Very wise. So what is all this confusion about?
