For 48 students from Blessed Sacrament Church Sunday School, the evening of October 10 will always be a memorable one. They were in church to receive the sacrament of Confirmation at a special Mass celebrated by Archbishop Emeritus John Ha.

The 23 boys and 25 girls, were from the English-speaking and Chinese-speaking Catechism classes.

Archbishop Emeritus John Ha, in his homily, used an analogy of an electrical wire, a light bulb and a power switch to demonstrate how they must all be connected to light up the Church.

“Similarly, we need the Holy Spirit within us to power us. The Church also has to work together as the Body of Christ.”

To the confirmands, he told them that their confirmation would make them witnesses of Christ. They later renewed their Baptismal promises before being invited for the laying on of hands and the anointing with chrism oil by Archbishop Emeritus John Ha, assisted by Fr Felix Au.

The students filled the roles of choir, commentator and readers, and presented the Offertory gifts. --blessedsacramentkuching.org
