In the year of Mercy, the Parents Support Group from Our Lady of Lourdes, Ipoh had an amazing train trip to St Jude’s Church, Rawang with 16 Differently Abled Persons and children, with their respective families.
The main purpose of the trip was to give all the Differently Abled Children the experience of travelling in a train, as well as to visit St Jude’s Church.
The journey started at about 9.00am Saturday, May 14 with the children and their families, together with Fr Simon Anand.
When they reached Rawang Railway Station at 11.00am, the Parish Priest of St. Jude’s, Rawang, Fr David Arulanantham was there to receive them. Children in wheelchairs were transported by cars and the others by bus to the church.
Parishioners of St Jude’s Church were present to welcome the group. Lunch was served by the youth, including the comfirmation students. We were also entertained with games and songs by the confirmation students, led by Fr David.
The devotion to St Jude was prayed at 3.00pm, followed by Mass concelebrated by Fr Simon and Fr David.
After that they were given tea, cakes, rosary, Mariam prayer cards and Year Of Mercy wristbands.
Photos were captured as a rememberance of this trip, with everyone involved in this journey.
The group was sent to the Rawang railway station for the return journey and reached Ipoh at 8.30pm, with beautiful memories.
