The newly confirmed with Archbishop Julian Leow and parish pastors

Ninety-seven students, from the Church of the Visitation, received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Archbishop Julian Leow on July 24. Concelebrating were parish priest, Fr Xavier Andrew, and assistant priest, Fr Philip Tay, OCD.

At the beginning, Archbishop Julian Leow asked the parishioners to pray and offer the candidates to the Lord that they may be faithful disciples of Him, that they may be convinced of following Jesus even more closely today.

In his homily, he asked, ‘Does God answer our prayers?’ He continued by saying, “Yes, He answers it according to His will, not our own will. ‘Am I doing His will? If I know what God is asking of me, at every decision or challenge that I face, and if I listen attentively, then all prayers will be answered according to His will. Trust and persistence are all that is needed.”

Fr Xavier praised God for everything that He has given us. “Today, I want to thank the catechists especially the ones who taught the candidates in this period of time for their hard work. Together with Fr Philip Tay and myself, we would like to thank the ones who have participated in today’s celebration. More than that, I want to thank the parents and godparents who have taken responsibility of your child. Lastly, this is not the end but the beginning of a new chapter,” added Fr Xavier.

It was indeed a beautiful and spirit filled Eucharistic celebration.
