BECs organise activties for Bible Sunday

The Parish of St Theresa celebrated Bible Sunday BEC Day with the 11.15am Eucharist animated by the BECs. A poster on the theme of Bible Sunday 2014 The Evergreen, Priceless, Treasure was placed at the entrance of the Church before Mass. The theme focused on Scripture, Tradition, and Magisterium as our Catholic way of understanding and interpreting the Bible.

The Sunday Reading was the Parable of the Sower. Fr Damian Charles focused on God’s unconditional love. God, the Father sows the seed in the human field, ie where we live. He, God is generous in sowing the seed even on barren ground. The Word of God can transform our lives spiritually. How? We, by listening to the Word, understanding it, accepting it and translating it into our behavior and actions, thus making a fertile(not futile) place of our lives for the Word to bear fruit —thirty, sixty and a hundred fold.

There was a short sharing by the Parish BEC Coordinator, Francis Ong on the PMPC theme of DISCIPLESHIP: CALLED, CHOSEN, SENT.

Our Being CALLED — God’s initiative, generosity and love. We are called to be with Him in personal prayer and to be with His People in community Our Being CHOSEN — to learn from Him through His Word, life and actions, and to receive training in His Community through community prayer and sharing.

Our Being SENT — to work on the MISSION of JESUS CHRIST ie to BRING PERSONS TO JESUS and to BRING JESUS TO PERSONS. After Mass, there was a fellowship lunch attended by Fr Peter Ng, the Parish Priest.

After lunch, there were songs led by the youths of BEC Cheng, charades by BEC Taman Merdeka, badminton game by BEC Malim and Bible puzzle by BEC Cheng. The whole celebration was coordinated by Anthony Heng and his team from BEC Malim.
