BOM Teacher Training Programme held in PJ

PETALING JAYA (Herald Malaysia): The Natural Fertility Awareness Service of Malaysia (NFASM) organized a Billings Ovulation (BOM)Teacher Training Programme at La Salle Hall January 23 – 25. The training programme was led by Dr L.L Chan, President of NFASM.

Members of NFASM comprise doctors, pharmacists, nurses and those in family life ministry who have been trained as Billings Ovulation (BOM) teachers and advocators of NFP .They are actively involved in conducting natural fertility awareness talks and follow-up clinics for pre-nuptial couples and also any other interested persons or couples.

A total of 10 participants made up of two young doctors, seven nurses and one non-medical person attended this wonderful and meaningful programme to be trained and accredited as BOM teachers.

At the end of the programme, one of the doctor-participants remarked that she found it very informative especially when natural family planning is approved by the Catholic Church to help in achieving or postponing pregnancy. She felt that it will indirectly enhance spousal relationship. The well-being and happiness of both parents are essential for children to have a conducive environment for development.

Another participant, a nurse, also shared that she loved the course and that it was very helpful as she discovered the beauty of human creation and the wonder of BOM.
