PETALING JAYA:
On Sunday December 26, a group of Catholic students from Universiti Malaya joined the NGO Sehati Aid https:// www.sehatiaid.com in organising and distributing food items and medical supplies to the affected areas in Carey Island after the recent floods.

Carey Island is located to the south of Port Klang and north of Banting. This island was badly affected by the floods and has been neglected. Various NGO volunteers were busy cleaning, mopping, providing food and helping local residents in restoring their homes.

“We’ve learned throughout this disaster that we truly are in this together. We are compelled to do something”, comments one student. “It is a pity to see so many of them sleeping on the muddy floors”, laments another student.

One lesson from the tremendous outpouring of love in action for our neighbours is that “There is so much more that unites us than divides us.
