In a simple award presentation ceremony, eight young and outstanding kids received recognition for their hard work and persistence in obtaining academic excellence in public examinations.

During the 9.00am Mass on June 26, Daniel Raj, Andrea Moh and Edmond Tan received the Dominic Vendargon Award for their achievement in PT3, SPM and Bible Knowledge respectively. This award is awarded to promote wholesome growth among our youth encouraging them to strive for academic excellence while participating actively in the life of the parish.

Five other students, Natalie Chow, Adelle Adrian, Alexandria Chew, Matthew Vergara and Leanne Cyril received the parish level Good Shepherd Award. This is the fourth year this award is being presented. Each award recipient was given a certificate and cash for their accomplishment.

Fr Christopher congratulated the recipients and encouraged them to further excel in their studies. He also urged the PIHD members to focus on education as well instead of only temporary assistance in kind. Educating the lesser fortunate will ensure that the poverty cycle is broken in the long run.

Parents and parishioners alike were very thrilled to see the children receive the award. Congratulations to all the award winners!
