Empowering laity

A sense of being interested in Church services and tasks by the laypeople but a failure to take an active role in the apostolate to the world (society), is indeed a stumbling block to their active lay participation in the world.

A sense of being interested in Church services and tasks by the laypeople but a failure to take an active role in the apostolate to the world (society), is indeed a stumbling block to their active lay participation in the world. Any justification on the significance of one of them at the expense of the other, be it either knowingly or unknowingly, is wrong. Hence, both lay ministry and lay apostolate are two admirable ways for the Catholic laypeople to participate in the mission of the Church. Then, our Catholic laypeople can stand up with dignity, pride and confidence as lay men and lay women, both in the Church and in the middle of the world.
