For the Marian month, the priests from the Church of St Ignatius (SIC) visited their parishioners to pray the Rosary together.

Parish priest, Fr Lawrence Ng CDD and assistant priest Fr Martin Then, CDD visited 43 homes with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, adorned with flowers and lighting.

The objective was to reconnect with parishioners, especially the vulnerable who have been unable to go to church during the pandemic, and to help them enrich their spiritual experience.

The visits drew commending responses, many parishioners saying they felt connected to their parish and were appreciative of both Fr Lawrence and Fr Martin who went out of their way to make them feel they belonged to and connected with the parish.

At each visit, the priests would first greet all family members present and then ask for any special intentions they would like to pray for, before commencing with the Rosary prayers. The priests would lead all those present in one decade of the Rosary, ending with a special Prayer for the Family and a Prayer for Vocations.

On May 31, the parish commemorated the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Mass followed by candle lit Rosary procession around the church.

After Mass, the mobile carriage bearing the statue of Our Lady of Fatima was pushed out to the church entrance by a small group of teens and senior members.

There were four groups representing the language apostolate. Each group carried Our Lady of Fatima’s carriage as the Rosary prayers were led by children.

The evening ended with pre-packed light refreshments and mineral water. Bottles of sanitisers were also distributed to everyone.

It is by His grace and providence that God brought the various ministries and many volunteers together as one united family to work towards the fulfilment of all the events of the month.
