IPOH (Herald Malaysia): For the children at St Michael’s Church (SMC), Sept 13 was a very special day because the Mass was animated by them. All 150 Sunday school children from preschool to Form 4 were the choir, hospitality ministers, readers, and offertory gift bearers.
The children’s choir sang their hearts out, with St Theresa’s choir leading them.
It was the first time there were so many altar servers that there wasn’t enough seats for everyone.
“Today is the day which I have been looking forward to, because it is our day, and the Mass is specially for us. I don’t want to waste a moment of this day,” said nine-year-old Selvina Raj Kanagarajan.
Her sister, Shekinah, 16, agreed and said she felt so much joy after the Mass. “After seeing the children’s choir, I am thinking of joining the church choir next year,” she said.
After communion, SMC priest-in-residence Fr Robin Andrews blessed the children, and thanked those who had helped organise the children’s Mass.
