After two months of hard work and practice, “The Passion of Christ” came to life at San Pedro’s Hub, St Peter’s Church, Melaka.

The play was staged April 1-2 and attracted about 700 spectators. The play was written by the Director/ Producer, Mr Tony Silva. Parishioners from four churches — St Francis Xavier Church, St Peter’s Church, Assumption Church and The Church of the Immaculate Conception made up the Cast and Crew.

The powerful scenes depicted Christ’s Suffering, Death and Resurrection, including the Last Supper, the Agony in the Garden, the Death of Judas after his Betrayal, the Scourging at the Pillar and His Crucification.

The hearts of the spectators were deeply touched and many were seen weeping quietly or dabbing their eyes.

The Parish Priest, Fr Lionel Thomas was impressed with the poignant performance and congratulated the Cast and Crew for their fine performance. He believes it will truly help all who witnessed it in their Lenten Reflection.
