Natural fertility awareness talk in Penang

The Natural Fertility Awareness Service of Penang organised a talk on ‘Natural Fertility Awareness the knowledge for every woman’ on April 27 at the PDPI Hall.

Thirty-eight participants attended. The speaker, Dr Chan Lek Lim, president of Natural Fertility Awareness Service of Malaysia (NFASM), also known as WOOMB (World Organisation of Ovulation Method Billings) Malaysia

Dr Chan who is in complementary medicine and an associate Director of WOOMB International started the session by giving an overview of the Billings Ovulation Method (BOM) including the discovery of BOM by Dr John &Evelyn Billing.

He then explained briefly the physiology of the menstrual cycle and how ovulation is the most important event in the woman’s cycle. By daily observation, charting and paying attention to her bodily signs, a woman will be able to identify her fertile and infertile periods.

“The Billings Ovulation Method can help to identify root causes of menstrual disorder, which is important to couples facing infertility.” said Dr Chan. “BOM is most important and helpful in early diagnosis and monitoring treatment of gynaecological disorders.”
