Official opening of the Jubilee Holy Doors at three pilgrim Churches in Melaka-Johor

To All Reverend Fathers, Permanent Deacons, Religious and Brothers and Sisters In Christ in the Melaka-Johor Diocese.

It is with joy that I hereby declare that the three pilgrim Churches designated for the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy in the Diocese of Melaka-Johor will be elevated to Jubilee Holy Door in addition to the Holy Door at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart. The official opening of the three Holy Doors shall be held on Ash Wednesday, 10 February 2016, namely:

1. The Church of Immaculate Conception, Johor Bahru at 8:30pm;
2. The Church of St Phillip, Segamat at 8:30pm; and
3. The Church of St Peter, Melaka at 6:00pm.

This is to enable more people to be accessible to encounter of the tenderness and compassion, indulgence and mercy of God, as envisaged by Pope Francis, provided that one has observed the various conditions for receiving indulgences.

Having experienced the mercy of God, I do encourage you my Brothers and Sister to be generous in performing Spiritual and Corporal works of Mercy.
