The Christ the Light Chapel youth committee members were showered with a sense of renewed passion and strengthened faith as they journeyed on a three day leadership camp on March 20-22.

The camp was facilitated by three youth advisors who, together have a combined experience of almost 20 years. The leadership camp was themed around the verse from Matthew 28:20 “Even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life as a ransom for many.” The sixteen committee members discovered, through various sessions, that there is a leader in each one of them and by discovered ways to better themselves as leaders.

The sessions highlighted how Jesus was a leader and how we, as committee members, could lead through servant leadership. Parish Priest, Fr Albet Arockiasamy himself conducted a session that shone some light on his journey towards priesthood and encountering Jesus in his life. Fr Albet also spoke about how each one of us has a calling and encouraged us to listen for it. One very outstanding session allowed each committee member to feel a sense of renewal, humility and togetherness whereby they took a cue from Jesus who washed the feet of his disciples. Each committee member did just that, as they washed each other’s feet just like Jesus did. It left a profound mark on each member.

The three day leadership camp has brought about a new sense of togetherness and drive in each member of the Christ the Light Chapel youth committee who will now steadfastly continue to ignite and share in the light of Christ.
