Confirmation candidates from both the Chapel of Christ the Light in Desa Jaya and Chapel of Christ the King were administered the Sacrament of Confirmation by Archbishop Emeritus Murphy Pakiam on May 11 at the Chapel of Christ the King.

The chapel was packed with parishioners and family members of the Confirmands for the 9.00am multi-lingual Mass presided by the prelate and concelebrated by Fr Albert Arockiasamy, who is the Administrator of both the chapels.

In his homily Archbishop Emeritus Pakiam advised the youths to share the fruits of the Holy Spirit that they received today with those they meet. He advised them to be strong in their faith and after receiving the sacrament, to continue to deepen their faith-life by being active and serving in the Church.

As May 11 was also Mother’s Day, Archbishop Emeritus Pakiam thanked all mothers and prayed for them during the Mass.

Coincidentally, since Archbishop Emeritus Pakiam’s 50th priestly anniversary fell on May 10, the parish surprised the prelate with an anniversary cake that was wheeled to the front of the sanctuary , right after Mass.

The cake was later shared during the brunch fellowship held in the chapel grounds.
