St Theresa Church, Tamil Youth Ministry and Catechists organised an ‘Explore Race Game’ for catechism students aged between 13-17 years on Sept 16.

The students were divided into seven groups, with each group having four participants. Each group was led by two facilitators. The race started at the church and covered the housing estates around Masai town (Taman Pasir Putih, Kota Masai, Taman Rinting and Seri Alam), about 30km.

Transport was provided to participants to start their first task from the church to Tmn Pasir Putih housing area. Once they completed the first task, the house owner would provide the clue for the next task.

Contestants travelled to and within multiple areas in a variety of transportation modes, including, taxicabs, buses, and on foot.

Through this race, the students gained a lot of experience in house cleaning, car washing, filling fuel at petrol stations, travelling by bus or cabs, shopping, walking for long distances, asking the public for help or directions. It taught them to be independent. They also practised their leadership skills, encouraging their team members and thinking positively.
