As part of the preparation for Confirmation, the students of the pre-confirmation class were required to carry out an act of community service. On October 16, the students organised a fun day at the zoo with the boys from the Divine Mercy Boys’ Home.

About two weeks before the trip to the zoo, two students were assigned to take care of each child. They also prepared bags of snacks for the kids. The students planned the agenda for that day.

After Mass, on the morning of the Oct 16, the students met the children from the Boys’ home at Zoo Negara. After pairing up with the child they were assigned to, they prayed asking God to bless and keep everyone safe throughout the trip.

As the tickets were pre-booked, they did not have to queue. First they wen to the giraffe enclosure and then made their way to the giant panda conservation centre. There, they were allowed to be in the centre for 20 minutes and had to keep silence.

After visiting the various areas, they went for lunch at the Wild Restaurant. Each pair paid for the lunch of the child under their care. . After lunch, they went to the zoo aquarium. There were many types of fish that fascinated the kids. The aquarium was the last stop of the trip.

All in all, God answered our prayers and our community service was very productive. The visit brought the pre-confirmation class much closer and we went further in our journey towards confirmation.
