TELUPID (Herald Malaysia): The fourth Youth Leaders’ Camp will be held at St Martin Telupid from 25 February to 1st March 2015. After many meetings, the planning team chose a passage from the Gospel of Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God as the theme for the forthcoming Youth Leaders’ Camp.
The logo, and the meaning of the symbols, are as follows : The open hands symbolize gratitude for all the blessings that we have received through the outpouring of love from Almighty God, who encourages us with talents that we are able to say, “Here I am, send me.”
The heart symbolizes our faithfulness in exploring more deeply into the love of Jesus, with a pure heart.
The Cross is our life, centred in Jesus Christ, because He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
The objectives for the 4th Youth Leaders Camp are:
--To invite the youth leaders to ‘pause’ and reflect on ourselves as youth leaders.
--To seek, learn and renew our personal faith through the sharing of the gospel that is basic to our faith.
--To build and strengthen friendships between the youth leaders in all the four parishes in the Diocese of Sandakan.
The first meeting was held 26 September at St Martin Church, Telupid where various tasks were assigned to the organizers. Meetings which focused on carrying out the programme, management of the venue and finalizing the logistics were held during the months of October and November. The meeting on the 6th December 2014 was with Rev Fr Jasery and members of the Parish Pastoral Council of St Martin, Telupid.
