A confirmation day-camp was held at the Church of The Immaculate Conception on March 25 for all confirmands.
The camp comprised of several segments designed to enrich the confirmands’ understanding and deep appreciation of the Holy Spirit’s presence and allimportant role in their faith journey.
In the opening session, parish priest Fr Terrance Thomas aptly summed up the importance of faith as the spiritual anchor in one’s life with the words ‘Though our eyes are blinded, yet our faith gives sight’. Parents of confirmands attended a session conducted simultaneously with their children’s camp. Here, the parents shared their aspirations and fears concerning their children’s spiritual welfare with coordinator Fr Terrance.
The confirmands, on the other hand, were engaged in active dialogue during their sessions with speakers Dr Patricia Martinez, catechism coordinator Virginia Hancock and Franciscan Sr Lucia Kayoh from Sabah. The camp ended late afternoon with collective prayer contributed by each confirmand and fellowship.
