The Tamil-speaking youth from the Church of St Francis of Assisi (SFA) paid a visit to Rumah Chrestus, a children’s home, after the Sunday Eucharistic celebration on March 22. The youth wanted to be The Fingerprints of Jesus Christ which is this year’s theme for the parish.
Serving the less fortunate, strolling in Jesus’ way and imparting affection and peace to the poor were the goals of this home visit. Prior to the visit, the youth opened a booth for donations. The Tamil-speaking parishioners were generous in their contributions which was used to purchase some basic items for the home.
On arrival, the youth were greeted by Pastor Eliezer Peter who is in charge of the home. He was happy to see the items purchased for the children.
Then, one of the youth began a petition to God, and we proceeded with getting to know the children there. There are eight children living at the home, five in primary school and three in secondary school.
The satisfaction in their eyes brought fulfilment to the youth.
Those in charge of the home thanked them and prayed for the youth before they left. The Tamil-speaking youth of SFA spent valuable time serving the children and making them feel needed.
