Amid the 500-strong crowd of people who were at the Chapel of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament here on 3 Jan 2016 were the diocesan clergy, and parishioners who came from near and far to witness the opening of the Holy Door of Mercy by Bishop Cornelius Piong.

Federal Ministry hands funds to Sabah Council of Mission Schools

A total of RM12,000,000.00 was allocated to mission schools in Sabah by the Federal Education Ministry, out of which 8.1 million goes to the 71 Catholic Mission Schools within the State of Sabah.

St. Mary’s Parish Hall was filled with more than 300 parishioners and well-wishers on the evening of 25th January 2016 for the appreciation night in honour of Rev. Fr. Thomas Makajil who will be assigned to Paitan Mission and Fr. Phillip Muji who will be on transfer to Holy Trinity Tawau effective after Chinese New Year.

It is with joy that I hereby declare that the three pilgrim Churches designated for the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy in the Diocese of Melaka-Johor will be elevated to Jubilee Holy Door in addition to the Holy Door at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart.
