Appointment of Apostolic Nuncio in Malaysia and East Timor and Apostolic Delegate in Brunei Darussalam

The Holy Father has appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia and East Timor and Apostolic Delegate to Brunei Darussalam His Excellency Monsignor Wojciech Zaluski, Titular Archbishop of Diocletian, currently Apostolic Nuncio to Burundi.

The Holy Father has appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia and East Timor and Apostolic Delegate to Brunei Darussalam His Excellency Monsignor Wojciech Zaluski, Titular Archbishop of Diocletian, currently Apostolic Nuncio to Burundi.

Wojciech Zaluski was born 5 April 1960. He was born in Zaluski-Lipniewo, in the centre-east of Poland.

On 1 June 1985, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Lomza. He earned a degree in canon law. He joined the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1 July 1989 and filled assignments in Burundi, Malta, Albania, Zambia, Sri Lanka, Georgia, Ukraine, the Philippines, and Guatemala.

On 15 July 2014, Pope Francis named him apostolic Nuncio to Burundi and titular archbishop of Diocletiana. He received his episcopal consecration on 9 August from Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State.

He will present his Credentials as the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to The Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah.

Archbishop Wojciech Zaluski will head the Holy See’s diplomatic mission to Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

The date of his arrival in Malaysia has yet to be announced.
